Smarty Pants

A few weeks back, I got an e-mail from at&t telling me that I was eligible for a new phone.

Now, I'd been thinking for awhile that it was probably time to grow up a little bit and get rid of my piece o' crap Nokia that I ordered simply because it was pink and delve into the world of smartphones.

But which one?

iPhone?
Blackberry?
Android?

So many choices...too many choices for a girl who got her last phone because it was pink, y'all.

So I did what any smart girl looking for a smart phone would do...I asked my friend, Matt, to pick out a phone for me and I would follow his recommendation.

He recommended the droid. And he even picked out the model for me and everything.

But I still felt very confused because all the droids come with touch screens and I'm not so nimble when it comes to...well OK a lot of things...but mostly I'm not so nimble when it comes to touch screens.

However, when I got to the at&t store yesterday and started chatting up the salesman, Tyler, he showed me the newest phone to be released on the droid platform...the Samsung Captivate galaxy phone.

And oh-my-god-of-all-things-unbelievably-cool-and-powerful!

It has this slick little feature called Swype technology that allows me to just slide my finger over the phone's keyboard and that forms words. WORDS, y'all!

So I don't even have to worry about hitting each individual letter.

And then there's the fact that it comes with 16 gigs of memory and so I've now got an mp3 player.

Which, by the way, allowed me to do what I've always wanted to do and that is to create my very own ringtone from Kajagoogoo's Kajagoogoo song.

And that, in a non-swyped word, is fantabulous.

I never thought I'd say this about a phone but...

I heart it.

A lot.
